About

Hi there everybody!

My name is Ramona Steenkamp but you can call me Mony. I live in Pretoria in sunny South Africa. I’m currently a student at the University of Pretoria. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, and am currently doing a post-grad diploma in Museum Sciences. My interests are history, music, politics and reading.

I think  that defining reading as an “interest” is a little bit of an understatement. I love books. There is absolutely nothing I would rather do than curl up with a good story. My reading bread and butter is mostly romance. I’ll throw in some YA novels here and there but, for the most part, I’m a sucker for a happily ever after. So on CrackedSpineTingling I will be talking almost exclusively about the books I’ve read, the authors I love, and the fictional couples I ‘ship.

I’d just like to give a quick breakdown of why I chose the name CrackedSpineTingling. If you’re not interested, feel free to skip this little intro and check out the rest of the site. For those of you who’d like to know, I’ll break it down like this: the first bit “cracked spine” is due to the fact that, no matter how hard I try, all my books have cracked spines. Every. Single. One. That is my only vice in terms of how I treat my books. The “spine tingling” bit doesn’t need much of an explanation, I imagine. It’s the feeling you get when you’re reading an absolutely amazing book, and you get that little shiver running down your spine.

It’s just me running this show and I’m not as techno-savvy as I should be, so if you notice any blunders please give me a shout on the comments section so I can try to sort it out. Also, please don’t hesitate to chip in on any of my reviews or rants or anything else. I’d love to hear from you!
